Practical training advice

  • Before you start your work-out, make sure that there is enough space available. For some of the exercises you will need quite a bit of space
  • Make sure that your feet are placed securely on the floor and cannot glide away. Placing a matt underneath your training area and / or wearing non-slippery shoes is also very helpful
  • You can intensify or simplify the exercises by creating a more instable situation or by using external devices (such as dumbells or exercise bands)
  • The more air your ball contains, the more stable it is. Beginners should not inflate the ball too much at the beginning. Once you have gained more experience with the FitBall and feel more secure, you can add more air anytime
  • You can vary the range of stability by creating a bigger base of support (feet farther apart) or smaller support by placing the feet closer together. For example can you perform a crunch on the ball while lying/sitting and your feet being 50cm apart and then compare the same exercise by placing the feet closer together. With your feet being closer together your base of support is smaller and therefore you have less stability and a more intense trainings programme
  • A general exercise rule is to perform the FitBall exercises after your general work-out. First load quickly your primary muscles, after that you are performing the exercises with the FitBall in order to train the secondary muscles, namely your stabilizers. As soon as the primary muscles are fatigued, you can train the stabilizers in a more efficient way
  • Additional rings for the floor are available. With these you will sit more stable on the ball, for example when using it as a chair at the desk etc. Furthermore additionally rings are available for easy, space-saving storage
